Matching Gifts
Your employer may sponsor a matching gift program that will match, double, or – in some instances – more than double your gift to the Mountaineer Athletic Club. Some companies also match gifts made by volunteers, spouses, retirees, or board members. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please use the WVU Foundation's Matching Gift Search Engine or contact the WVU Foundation at (304) 284-4000.

By submitting your company's matching gift form with your gift, it can significantly increase your support and associated giving level. Matching gifts are awarded Priority Points just like regular annual fund gifts, two (2) points for every $100 given in the current giving year. Points for matching gifts are awarded when the matching gift is received and processed by the WVU Foundation.

Many matching gifts require a significant period of time for processing, so please plan the timing of your gifts accordingly. For more information on matching gifts, matching gift guideline and the matching gift submission procedures, please click HERE.

Securities
Donors may make a charitable contribution through an electronic transfer of stock or the actual stock certificate. Donors receive a tax deduction on a gift of stock based on the value of the stock on the day it was received by the Mountaineer Athletic Club.

Bequests
Gifts through wills and bequests can provide you with the opportunity to sustain your family name in conjunction with West Virginia University's intercollegiate athletic program. The Mountaineer Athletic Club can provide you with the language necessary to ensure that your intentions are clearly expressed. Planned gift donors are recognized in the Mountaineer Athletic Club's Jerry West Society.

Life Income/Charitable Trusts
Charitable trusts offer an opportunity to make a substantial gift to the Mountaineer Athletic Club without forfeiting the annual income produced by these assets. You retain income for your life and the life of your spouse. This gift can also be structured to create a substantial tax break over a period of years.

Gifts-In-Kind
Gifts of goods or services can be of great financial assistance to the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, while offering the donor a tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. Please consult your tax advisor and contact the Mountaineer Athletic Club office for further information.

University Payroll Deduction (WVU employees only)
Gifts to the Mountaineer Athletic Club can be made via payroll deduction. All WVU faculty & staff MAC membership forms must be submitted to the Mountaineer Athletic Club by the April 28, 2017 priority deadline. Payroll deduction payments will begin on June 1, 2017 and continue for five (5) consecutive paychecks.
