WVU Gymnastics Fund

One of the most crucial needs for West Virginia University Intercollegiate Athletics is support for the renovation and construction of our athletic facilities. Collegiate athletes today demand the finest athletic facilities and equipment.
For recruiting purposes, it is essential that our WVU facilities exceed the expectations of prospective student-athletes and compare favorably to other schools in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League and the nation.
As always, maintaining facilities and strategically planning for the future is an ongoing process.
The Gymnastics Fund was created to provide the resources to enhance the Cary Gym and make WVU’s facility the best in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League. The renovations include a new weight room, aerobics room and various equipment and gym enhancements. The changes will help to create a more functional, state-of-the- art training environment.
“The new renovations and enhancements for Cary Gym will provide us with one of the top gymnastics training facilities in college athletics. The additions to the weight room and the much needed aerobic/fitness room will provide WVU student-athletes a much safer environment in which to workout. Our gymnastics team has been nationally ranked in the top 25 in the country for many years. These additions will give WVU the opportunity to move to the next level by making recruiting that much easier and provide current and prospective student athletes with a great training environment,” says WVU Head Gymnastics Coach, Linda Burdette.
The Gymnastics Fund will enable WVU Intercollegiate Athletics to make a strong statement in regard to its commitment and vision for a first-class Gymnastics program – a program that wins competitions, abides by NCAA rules and graduates its student-athletes. Major gifts to the Gymnastics Fund will be recognized within the renovated Cary Gym.
